These pages target Python package 0.23.3, using Rust core 5.5.5. Python imports use oxidize_pdf; the PyPI distribution is named oxidize-pdf.
- Use the Python API and its shipped type stubs. Rust methods and Cargo feature switches are not automatically Python APIs.
- Native wheels are platform-specific. Check the 0.23.3 files for your Python and operating system.
- Text extraction does not recover text from scans without an OCR step.

The optional oxidize-pdf[mcp] extra provides a local MCP server that performs PDF operations. Context7 supplies documentation to assistants. Installing one does not configure the other. See the versioned MCP migration guide for the PDF server.
